EHL40. Luggage Porters Stand. Victorian/Edwardian. St. Leonard's Road, Eastbourne. what3words location: stump.tile.pills

Licence plates were attached to the base of a wall where the licence holder was permitted to stand whilst awaiting hire.

Triangular island of land at the junction of St. Leonard’s Road and The Avenue.   On the boundary wall facing Avenue House.

Initially this plate was difficult to find as it was covered in foliage.  Again, mounted higher up the wall as the wall base is in the gutter.  The photograph nicely shows the tang/spike that would normally be driven into the ground.

Repainted by Bob Cookson.
